Using
the CITIZENconnect web editor is as simple as
using standard word processing software such as
Word. Users can choose the template of their choice
(you may for instance want a different template
for your intranet, extranet, and website). The
standard save, copy, cut, paste, and print formatting
controls are to be found, but there are also a
few clever extras. One of the problems of pasting
Word documents is that they bring with them 'invisible'
formatting commands that can affect your Web page.
The CITIZENconnect cleanser will strip out the
unwanted code and get rid of the problem. Creating
hyperlinks couldn't be easier, just click the
hyperlink button for a list of all the possible
link types you may wish to create, and a link
can be created in only a few seconds.
Images can be 'cut and
pasted', downloaded from your picture library,
or you can simply use 'drag & drop'. Easy
to use formatting commands allow you to position
your pictures left, right, or centre stage, with
word wrap if desired. You can offer particular
style sheets to particular users, ensuring that
the overall look and feel of your website is always
consistent, with you always able to have the final
say.

You can select the metadata
fields most suited to your authority. There are
21 different fields but you may not wish to use
all of them. When you post an article using CITIZENconnects
you will be asked to complete the relevant metadata
information, which will automatically be posted
at the same time as your content. When you post
an article you can include it in as many or as
few categories as you wish, and a further refinement
is that you can specify the start and end date
of your articles. Once a user has finished creating
or editing an article it is then uploaded to await
approval, and once again we will tailor the work-flow
to your specification. Typically an email will
automatically be sent to alert the approver(s).

User management
You are able to add, delete,
or revise user profiles very easily via our admin
console, which also allows you to allocate user
names and passwords.
